((  CALL OUT   ((

Hello! I am looking for a Regular Support Worker who is experienced in arts related admin to assist me in my freelance practice  1x day a week. This could also be worked as 2 x half days. Ideally all or some of this role would be from my home in Glasgow.

I am also looking for people who would be interested in Ad Hoc Support Work for the following roles:

  • Travel Assistance

  • Assistant Choreographer

These roles are financed via Access to Work with a competitive Rate of Pay. Funding for the role is secured until June 2024.

Ideally the Regular Support Worker would begin ASAP. I am looking to find someone who can work with me over the next year (and beyond) on a regular basis.

Depending on the background and skills of the person, the Regular Support Worker could also work across some of the Specialist Support roles, if it was of interest.

((  ABOUT ME  ((

I am a white, queer, disabled and chronically ill artist and producer based in Glasgow. My work intersects dance, live art, participatory practice, sculpture and design. I'm a Gemini sun who is equally at home on a sweaty dance floor at 4am as I am resting in bed with a good cup of coffee and my gorgeous  cat Tybalt (who you would get to know too!). You can find out more about my arts practice here and the kind of projects I am involved with here.

((  ABOUT THE ROLE  ((

Regular Support Worker: The role would entail working with me across my practice and projects, supporting me with administration, communications, organisation and planning to manage my workload and professional relationships around my health and periods of illness.

Jobs you might do include: answering emails, taking notes, organising inboxes, files and folders, support with workflow planning, updating calendars, project management software and website, planning and arranging access and travel.

I am looking for someone with a good working knowledge of arts administration and project management. Experience in dance or disability arts would be a bonus. Previous experience as a Support Worker is not essential but you should be confident in your understanding of disability justice and accessible working practices.

Travel Assistance: travelling with me to residencies, performances etc. Carrying luggage, set, materials etc., planning and coordinating Accessible Travel arrangements and assisting with Get Ins/ Get  (Drivers License & Access to Vehicle a plus)

Assistant Choreographer: supporting me in the studio with some elements of creative rehearsals, standing in during techs, noting choreography, leading warm ups etc.

((  CONTACT ME   ((

If either the Regular Support Worker role or Ad Hoc Support Work sound like something you are interested in, please send me an email to laurafisher_performance@outlook.com with a bit about yourself and your experience or let me know if you would like to have a conversation about the roles.
